Week 6

This week in class we watched multiple interactive analysis presentations. However, I felt like the tornado presentation that we watched was one of the cooler websites that were presented. It would be difficult to have that within our presentation considering we are Ice Skating. But I feel like this gave us a lot of ideas on what we could do in order to make our presentation pop out a lot more. This will be a huge part in our grade. But the biggest thing I felt that kind of lacked in all of the projects except for the Tornado website was the use of Audio. I personally feel that Audio is a huge component of any project or website. I am a huge audio guy so I feel that it is extremely important for sure.

For our team aspect of the blog this week was a little hectic for all of us and had a tad big of miscommunication when turning in the Team Schedule. But we took care of it with no damage done which was very helpful. We are still trying to fine tune a good time to get our first chance to go skating and see what we can get made up. We will all have to check our schedules to see when we will be able to make that happen. All of us are very active in our GroupMe so it should be pretty easy to find a time to get all of us together.

Week 5

This week we really sat down and figured out how we were going to present this in class with media and also within the website that we are creating. After discussing it all, it become evident that a lot of equipment will be used in order to be sure that we have all the media to make sure we meet the requirements. We also decided on when the best times would be for us to go ice skating as well and that we needed to start our media coverage at least by week 7. This will give us a very good idea on how much media we will be able to get within one visit of going to the ice rink. We will all be doing different types of media and we will be using all different types of media such as 360 cameras, DSLR, and Go Pros. Also, we have decided to start a box folder so we will all be able to access the media that way we can make changes and edit not just while we are in class. This will be monumental if someone is unable to come to one of our meetings that way we will all be able to move forward so our presentation is done.

Week 4 Blog

This week in 134 we delivered our pitches for our semester project. It went very well we received a ton of helpful feedback about our three activities we decided to pitch. After considering all of the options we decided to go with the Ice Skating activity. This will give us a ton of media to work with and allow us to explore a lot of different techniques on how to use media.

We however do need to create a schedule so we can remain on task and know what we need to do every week in order to stay on task so we can get the best coverage possible. As a team we will have to sit down and create this schedule in order to get the best media possible. The biggest obstacle that we will run into is allowing time for us to go Ice Skating. We are all college students and we all have lives outside of school, so that could become an obstacle but I think we would be able to work out all the kinks once we sit down and get to work on the schedule. Over the next two weeks we will get to work not only on the schedule but on the project itself.

Week 3

To make my team successful this semester I need to stay on task and make sure to hold my team members accountable in order for us to be successful. If we want to be successful we all need to communicate and not be afraid to receive criticism from fellow team members if it will improve our project at the end of this semester. If our team doesn’t work together successfully then we need to figure out what we are doing wrong. A majority of it could be some bad communication and not giving constructive criticism that will help our team in the end.

This week was a pretty easy week as far as contributions. We continued coming up with different ideas that we can turn into a project at the end of the semester. There were a lot of good ideas that were brought to the table such as Ice Skating, learning a Language, or possibly even going into an Escape Room.  Once class was over, another idea that was brought to the table was a podcast which could be hard considering all the topics that would need to be brought to the table plus all the editing and finding time to get into an audio booth in Anderson Hall. But I feel like we got a good start on the project.

Week 2 Blog

This was the first week my team met up to establish what it is we are going to be working on for the final project due over finals week. As the ideas started to get tossed around we all came into an agreement that we should do something that will be hands on, so it’ll be a lot easier for us to create a story behind all of it. Ideas such as rock climbing, baking a cake, bowling, and ice skating were all ideas that were put on the table. We also began to establish our team contract that will be the backbone to how we will get through this whole semester as a team to reach our overall goal. However, for this particular week my role in this group is particularly easy as we are going to prepare for our pitches due in a couple weeks. We are all going to brainstorm about 10 ideas and when we meet next Tuesday we will have a good idea as too what we want to create this semester long project over.  I feel like our group is going to be very easy and fun to work with and I am excited to see how this semester is going to go.
